# Thermo vs Thermometer º

The clearest difference is rating: Thermo at 4.6 against Thermometer º's 3.3. Thermo also leads on review sentiment (87% vs 50%) and ratings volume (131 vs 4). Thermometer º's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Thermo sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.09 per month and Thermometer º sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Thermo holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Thermo has 131 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 87% of Thermo's written reviews are positive against 50% of Thermometer º's.

Thermo ships an update fortnightly, Thermometer º every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
