# Nova Fax vs SentryChat

The clearest difference is price: SentryChat at Free against Nova Fax's $19.99. SentryChat also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Nova Fax's advantage is ratings volume (1K vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

SentryChat is free to download; Nova Fax costs $19.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SentryChat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nova Fax has 1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Nova Fax ships an update every 3 weeks, SentryChat every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
