# NILAN vs NEX Smart

The clearest difference is update cadence: NEX Smart at every 3 weeks against NILAN's every 4 months. NILAN's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NILAN ships an update every 4 months, NEX Smart every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
