# Syllabus Grade Metrics vs Playbacks

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Syllabus Grade Metrics at none against Playbacks's 10. Syllabus Grade Metrics also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 84%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). Playbacks's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (1.3K vs 10). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Playbacks sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Syllabus Grade Metrics asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Syllabus Grade Metrics against 4.8 for Playbacks. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Playbacks has 1.3K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Syllabus Grade Metrics's written reviews are positive against 84% of Playbacks's.

Syllabus Grade Metrics ships an update every 4 months, Playbacks every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
