# The Yard vs Reflect Notes

The clearest difference is rating: Reflect Notes at 4.6 against The Yard's 3.7. Reflect Notes also leads on ratings volume (88 vs 3). The Yard's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Reflect Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Reflect Notes has 88 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of The Yard's written reviews are positive against 63% of Reflect Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Yard ships an update every 2 months, Reflect Notes monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
