# Scale vs Squarelets

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Scale at 50K against Squarelets's 52. Scale also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). Squarelets's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (68% vs 55%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scale sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Squarelets sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Squarelets holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scale has 50K ratings behind it against 52, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 55% of Scale's written reviews are positive against 68% of Squarelets's.

Scale ships an update weekly, Squarelets fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
