# World Geography vs MapGame!

The clearest difference is update cadence: MapGame! at monthly against World Geography's every 7 months. World Geography's advantage is review sentiment (91% vs 78%) and ratings volume (3.5K vs 423). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. World Geography sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and MapGame! sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for World Geography against 4.8 for MapGame!. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: World Geography has 3.5K ratings behind it against 423, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 91% of World Geography's written reviews are positive against 78% of MapGame!'s.

World Geography ships an update every 7 months, MapGame! monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
