# Tetric Block Down vs Boom Blocks

The clearest difference is rating: Boom Blocks at 4.9 against Tetric Block Down's 3.5. Boom Blocks also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (1.9K vs 2). Tetric Block Down's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tetric Block Down sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Boom Blocks sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Boom Blocks holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Boom Blocks has 1.9K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tetric Block Down ships an update every 8 months, Boom Blocks monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
