# Interval Timer vs Interval Timer

The clearest difference is rating: Interval Timer at 4.5 against Interval Timer's 3.9. Interval Timer also leads on ratings volume (149 vs 7). Interval Timer's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Interval Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Interval Timer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Interval Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Timer has 149 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Interval Timer's written reviews are positive against 29% of Interval Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Interval Timer ships an update weekly, Interval Timer every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
