# Solar Eclipse Timer vs Dusk

The clearest difference is update cadence: Dusk at fortnightly against Solar Eclipse Timer's monthly. Solar Eclipse Timer's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.2). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solar Eclipse Timer sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Dusk sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solar Eclipse Timer ships an update monthly, Dusk fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
