# Freeways vs Traffic Brains 2

The clearest difference is price: Traffic Brains 2 at Free against Freeways's $2.99. Traffic Brains 2 also leads on rating (4.5 vs 3.7) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). Freeways's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (62% vs 50%). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Traffic Brains 2 is free to download; Freeways costs $2.99 up front. Traffic Brains 2 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Freeways asks for nothing beyond the download.

Traffic Brains 2 holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Freeways has 507 ratings behind it against 59, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Freeways's written reviews are positive against 50% of Traffic Brains 2's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Freeways ships an update every 2 months, Traffic Brains 2 every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
