# WatchMETAR vs METAR Cloud

The clearest difference is ads: WatchMETAR at none against METAR Cloud's shown. METAR Cloud's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

WatchMETAR ships an update every 2 months, METAR Cloud every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
