# Funveo vs MX Effects

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MX Effects at none against Funveo's 10. MX Effects also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.6). Funveo's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (83K vs 94). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Funveo sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. MX Effects asks for nothing beyond the download.

Funveo holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Funveo has 83K ratings behind it against 94, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Funveo ships an update every 2 months, MX Effects every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
