# 外研通 vs 慧话宝

The clearest difference is review sentiment: 慧话宝 at 59% against 外研通's 0%. 慧话宝 also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). 外研通's advantage is rating (2.9 vs 2.0) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 外研通 sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and 慧话宝 sells 23 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

外研通 holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 16 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of 外研通's written reviews are positive against 59% of 慧话宝's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

外研通 ships an update every 3 weeks, 慧话宝 every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
