# Ultimate Comic Reader vs MangaPin

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MangaPin at 91% against Ultimate Comic Reader's 20%. MangaPin also leads on rating (4.9 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (5.5K vs 2). Ultimate Comic Reader's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ultimate Comic Reader sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and MangaPin sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MangaPin holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MangaPin has 5.5K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 20% of Ultimate Comic Reader's written reviews are positive against 91% of MangaPin's.
