# Kanopy vs Supermiro

The clearest difference is monetization model: Kanopy at free against Supermiro's free with in-app purchases. Kanopy also leads on ratings volume (153K vs 6) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). Supermiro's advantage is review sentiment (95% vs 72%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Supermiro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kanopy has 153K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 72% of Kanopy's written reviews are positive against 95% of Supermiro's.

Kanopy ships an update every 2 weeks, Supermiro every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
