# Cloud Secure vs Private Vault

The clearest difference is update cadence: Private Vault at every 2 weeks against Cloud Secure's every 27 months. Private Vault also leads on ratings volume (52 vs 4). Cloud Secure's advantage is iOS requirement (10.0 vs 14.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cloud Secure sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Private Vault sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cloud Secure holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Private Vault has 52 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Cloud Secure ships an update every 27 months, Private Vault every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
