# Flat Pack vs Picnic Penguin

The clearest difference is update cadence: Flat Pack at weekly against Picnic Penguin's every 5 months. Flat Pack also leads on ratings volume (4.4K vs 34) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flat Pack sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Picnic Penguin sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flat Pack holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flat Pack has 4.4K ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of Flat Pack's written reviews are positive against 74% of Picnic Penguin's.

Flat Pack ships an update weekly, Picnic Penguin every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
