# Simple Notepad vs MemoTaro

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Simple Notepad at 2.8K against MemoTaro's 13. MemoTaro's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Notepad sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month and MemoTaro sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MemoTaro holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Notepad has 2.8K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Simple Notepad ships an update every 3 weeks, MemoTaro every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
