# MsyChords vs Chords Pad

The clearest difference is rating: Chords Pad at 4.9 against MsyChords's 4.0. Chords Pad also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (96 vs 3). MsyChords's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MsyChords sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Chords Pad sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chords Pad holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chords Pad has 96 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 75% of MsyChords's written reviews are positive against 77% of Chords Pad's.

MsyChords ships an update every 11 months, Chords Pad every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
