# Secure Daily Diary vs Journal

The clearest difference is rating: Journal at 5.0 against Secure Daily Diary's 4.6. Secure Daily Diary's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (456 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure Daily Diary sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Journal sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Journal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secure Daily Diary has 456 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Secure Daily Diary ships an update every 3 weeks, Journal every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
