# Duffy vs Step Step

The clearest difference is update cadence: Step Step at every 3 days against Duffy's every 5 months. Step Step also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 84%). Duffy's advantage is ratings volume (757 vs 4) and iOS requirement (18.6 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Duffy sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Step Step sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Step Step holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Duffy has 757 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 84% of Duffy's written reviews are positive against 100% of Step Step's.

Duffy ships an update every 5 months, Step Step every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
