# Spoofbox vs SMS Verification

The clearest difference is rating: SMS Verification at 4.4 against Spoofbox's 2.5. SMS Verification also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (718 vs 74). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spoofbox sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and SMS Verification sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SMS Verification holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SMS Verification has 718 ratings behind it against 74, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of Spoofbox's written reviews are positive against 20% of SMS Verification's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Spoofbox ships an update every 8 months, SMS Verification every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
