# ResearchGate vs TTProNet

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ResearchGate at none against TTProNet's 6. ResearchGate also leads on ratings volume (15K vs 3). TTProNet's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, monetization model and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TTProNet sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. ResearchGate asks for nothing beyond the download.

TTProNet holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ResearchGate has 15K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ResearchGate ships an update every 5 weeks, TTProNet every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
