# ResearchGate vs Risksphere

The clearest difference is ads: Risksphere at none against ResearchGate's shown. Risksphere also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). ResearchGate's advantage is ratings volume (15K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Risksphere holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ResearchGate has 15K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ResearchGate ships an update every 5 weeks, Risksphere weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
