# ResearchGate vs Dinka

ResearchGate and Dinka both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Dinka's written reviews are positive against 46% of ResearchGate's. Dinka also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). ResearchGate's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ratings volume (15K vs 2). On price, rating, monetization model and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dinka sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. ResearchGate asks for nothing beyond the download.

Dinka holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ResearchGate has 15K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 46% of ResearchGate's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dinka's.

ResearchGate ships an update every 5 weeks, Dinka fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
