# Prompted Journal vs Desktop List

The clearest difference is rating: Prompted Journal at 4.8 against Desktop List's 3.0. Prompted Journal also leads on ratings volume (6.9K vs 1). Desktop List's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Prompted Journal sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Desktop List sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Prompted Journal holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prompted Journal has 6.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Prompted Journal ships an update every 2 months, Desktop List weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
