# Prompted Journal vs Gardenly

The clearest difference is update cadence: Gardenly at every 3 days against Prompted Journal's every 2 months. Prompted Journal's advantage is ratings volume (6.9K vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Prompted Journal sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Gardenly sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gardenly holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prompted Journal has 6.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Prompted Journal ships an update every 2 months, Gardenly every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
