# DOY vs Countdown

The clearest difference is rating: Countdown at 4.7 against DOY's 3.0. Countdown also leads on review sentiment (82% vs 50%) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 4 months). DOY's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. DOY asks for nothing beyond the download.

Countdown holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown has 3.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of DOY's written reviews are positive against 82% of Countdown's.

DOY ships an update every 4 months, Countdown every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
