# USC Gateway for Mobile vs Gradescope

The clearest difference is rating: USC Gateway for Mobile at 2.0 against Gradescope's 1.4. USC Gateway for Mobile also leads on iOS requirement (10.3 vs 13.4). Gradescope's advantage is ratings volume (269 vs 20) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

USC Gateway for Mobile holds the better App Store score, 2.0 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gradescope has 269 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of USC Gateway for Mobile's written reviews are positive against 9% of Gradescope's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

USC Gateway for Mobile ships an update every 3 months, Gradescope every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
