# ActivTrax vs ActiveX

The clearest difference is rating: ActiveX at 3.0 against ActivTrax's 2.3. ActiveX also leads on review sentiment (20% vs 10%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 14.0). ActivTrax's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (152 vs 2). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ActiveX holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ActivTrax has 152 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 10% of ActivTrax's written reviews are positive against 20% of ActiveX's.

ActivTrax ships an update every 5 weeks, ActiveX every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on July 4, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
