# MySmartfren vs SYNC by Krisbow

The clearest difference is monetization model: SYNC by Krisbow at free against MySmartfren's free with in-app purchases. SYNC by Krisbow also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). MySmartfren's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (342 vs 24). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for MySmartfren against 4.8 for SYNC by Krisbow. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MySmartfren has 342 ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 26% of MySmartfren's written reviews are positive against 23% of SYNC by Krisbow's.

MySmartfren ships an update every 2 months, SYNC by Krisbow every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
