# FAX from iPhone vs Fax

The clearest difference is monetization model: FAX from iPhone at free with in-app purchases against Fax's subscription. FAX from iPhone also leads on ratings volume (2.3K vs 5). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FAX from iPhone sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Fax sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fax holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FAX from iPhone has 2.3K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
