# Lock Notes vs Quick VPN

The clearest difference is monetization model: Quick VPN at free with in-app purchases against Lock Notes's subscription. Quick VPN also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 138). Lock Notes's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lock Notes sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Quick VPN sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Lock Notes against 4.4 for Quick VPN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Quick VPN has 1.4K ratings behind it against 138, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 54% of Lock Notes's written reviews are positive against 53% of Quick VPN's.

Lock Notes ships an update every 10 days, Quick VPN every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
