# Locate vs LocalNote

The clearest difference is rating: LocalNote at 5.0 against Locate's 2.5. Locate's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 26.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Locate sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per year and LocalNote sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LocalNote holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 1 respectively.

Locate ships an update monthly, LocalNote every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
