# N vs N'Back Fan

The clearest difference is ads: N at none against N'Back Fan's shown. N also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.6). N'Back Fan's advantage is update cadence (every 9 months vs every 39 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. N sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and N'Back Fan sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

N ships an update every 39 months, N'Back Fan every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
