# Prometheus vs SkillzRun

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Prometheus at none against SkillzRun's 10. Prometheus also leads on ratings volume (16 vs 2). SkillzRun's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 16 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SkillzRun sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Prometheus asks for nothing beyond the download.

SkillzRun holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prometheus has 16 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Prometheus's written reviews are positive against 62% of SkillzRun's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Prometheus ships an update every 16 months, SkillzRun weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
