# SimpleTexting vs Mobile Text Alerts | SMS & MMS

The clearest difference is rating: SimpleTexting at 4.7 against Mobile Text Alerts | SMS & MMS's 3.3. SimpleTexting also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 17) and ratings volume (3.5K vs 34). Mobile Text Alerts | SMS & MMS's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 22%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 3 months). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mobile Text Alerts | SMS & MMS sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. SimpleTexting asks for nothing beyond the download.

SimpleTexting holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SimpleTexting has 3.5K ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of SimpleTexting's written reviews are positive against 50% of Mobile Text Alerts | SMS & MMS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SimpleTexting ships an update every 3 months, Mobile Text Alerts | SMS & MMS every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
