# SimpleTexting vs Insta Texting

The clearest difference is rating: SimpleTexting at 4.7 against Insta Texting's 3.9. SimpleTexting also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 9) and ads (none vs shown). Insta Texting's advantage is review sentiment (63% vs 22%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Insta Texting sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. SimpleTexting asks for nothing beyond the download.

SimpleTexting holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SimpleTexting has 3.5K ratings behind it against 304, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of SimpleTexting's written reviews are positive against 63% of Insta Texting's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SimpleTexting ships an update every 3 months, Insta Texting every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
