# SimpleTexting vs Textedly

The clearest difference is update cadence: Textedly at every 6 days against SimpleTexting's every 3 months. Textedly also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). SimpleTexting's advantage is ratings volume (3.4K vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Textedly holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SimpleTexting has 3.4K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SimpleTexting ships an update every 3 months, Textedly every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
