# Temp Mail vs Independent dVPN

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Temp Mail at 20K against Independent dVPN's 1.1K. Temp Mail also leads on review sentiment (47% vs 38%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Temp Mail sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Independent dVPN sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Temp Mail against 4.5 for Independent dVPN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Temp Mail has 20K ratings behind it against 1.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 47% of Temp Mail's written reviews are positive against 38% of Independent dVPN's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
