# Piada vs McFarland's Bar

The clearest difference is monetization model: McFarland's Bar at free against Piada's free with in-app purchases. McFarland's Bar also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Piada's advantage is ratings volume (5.2K vs 4) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

McFarland's Bar holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Piada has 5.2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Piada ships an update monthly, McFarland's Bar fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
