# Metadata vs Tagalong

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tagalong at every 3 weeks against Metadata's every 4 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Metadata sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month and Tagalong sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Metadata ships an update every 4 months, Tagalong every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
