# Liberate vs Purity

Liberate and Purity both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 74% of Purity's written reviews are positive against 45% of Liberate's. Purity also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). Liberate's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Liberate sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Purity sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Liberate against 4.6 for Purity. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 867 and 895 respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 45% of Liberate's written reviews are positive against 74% of Purity's.
