# Liberate vs Progress

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Progress at none against Liberate's 3. Progress also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 2 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Liberate's advantage is ratings volume (866 vs 1). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Liberate sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Progress asks for nothing beyond the download.

Progress holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Liberate has 866 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Liberate ships an update every 2 weeks, Progress daily. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
