# Shader vs Folder

The clearest difference is update cadence: Folder at weekly against Shader's every 6 months. Shader's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16.2). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shader sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Folder sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shader ships an update every 6 months, Folder weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
