# MistAI vs OpenRoaming

The clearest difference is rating: MistAI at 4.1 against OpenRoaming's 3.0. MistAI also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 27 months) and ratings volume (15 vs 5). OpenRoaming's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 25%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MistAI holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 15 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of MistAI's written reviews are positive against 67% of OpenRoaming's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MistAI ships an update every 2 months, OpenRoaming every 27 months. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
