# DMV vs IL DMV Test

The clearest difference is ads: IL DMV Test at none against DMV's shown. IL DMV Test also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.4). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DMV sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and IL DMV Test sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DMV ships an update fortnightly, IL DMV Test every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
