# DMV vs DMV Permit Practice Test

The clearest difference is ratings volume: DMV at 31K against DMV Permit Practice Test's 4.2K. On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DMV sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and DMV Permit Practice Test sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for DMV against 4.8 for DMV Permit Practice Test. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DMV has 31K ratings behind it against 4.2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 83% of DMV's written reviews are positive against 80% of DMV Permit Practice Test's.

DMV ships an update fortnightly, DMV Permit Practice Test every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
