# DMV vs DMV Permit Practice Test +

The clearest difference is ratings volume: DMV at 30K against DMV Permit Practice Test +'s 935. On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DMV sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and DMV Permit Practice Test + sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for DMV against 4.8 for DMV Permit Practice Test +. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DMV has 30K ratings behind it against 935, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 83% of DMV's written reviews are positive against 88% of DMV Permit Practice Test +'s.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
